Background
With over 15 years' experience, Keen Health is a physiotherapy clinic in Hong Kong that has treated star athletes as well as everyday patients. With a team of experienced physiotherapists, they are second to none when it comes to treating bodily ailments.
However, when it came to their website, they were in the same boat as many other businesses, where they are not experts when it comes to website experience and design, and furthermore, they are simply too busy doing what they do best: treating their patients. They wanted help to modernise their website--which hadn't been touched for over 10 years--and that's where Mpowering Solutions came into the picture.

The Result
We carried out a full website redesign, updating the imagery to create a more professional and modern look and feel. We wrote entirely new website copy, including biographies for each physiotherapist, to help new clients choose which therapist is right for them. Given the business is in Hong Kong, we created a bilingual website to ensure it is functional for all communities.

The Updates
A lot of changes were made, but here are some of the key updates we implemented.

The old Keen Health website had outdated photographs as the banners, and the homepage had a large Keen Health logo, the clinic's outdated contact information and no other content. In addition, the navigation bar had webpages that were of little relevance for clients.
We reviewed all the existing content as well as competitor websites to see what standard information should be provided on the website of a reputable physiotherapy clinic. We then changed the content of webpages, and reorganised the navigation bar to ensure the right information was presented to any visitors on the website.
We also searched for and utilised better, more modern imagery to reflect the sporty heritage of Keen Health, and utilised them on the banners as well as key imagery within the relevant sections on the pages.

Rewrite website copy to include SEO keywords
On the old Keen Health website, the information provided was quite limited, whether it was about the services they provided or the team itself. We also noticed that a lot of competitors had an FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) section, which is understandable as new clients may have queries or worries when seeking physiotherapy treatments for the first time.
We researched the keywords most frequently used on Hong Kong search engines and ensured we utilised them in our copy. We even researched each physiotherapist and wrote their own individual biographies, detailing their education and achievements, to help assuage new clients of Keen Health's extensive expertise in the field.

On the old Keen Health website, some of the headings in the navigation bar were outdated or irrelevant to what customers are searching for, so we reviewed the content of competitor clinics and reorganised the navigation bar to reflect the real queries of what new as well as old clients would want to see.
We removed the pages such as Photo Library and Sports Enhancement, as the former is not as important as it used to be and the latter does not mean much to non-physio laymen, and instead added webpages for Testimonials and FAQs instead. We also renamed the pages for clearer messaging.

Translate and create
bilingual website
Unlike some of our other Hong Kong-based clients, Keen Health service customers that speak predominantly Cantonese, therefore it was imperative that we create a website that catered to all potential clients in the city.
We teamed up with a professional to translate our English copy into traditional Chinese, and provided Chinese keywords to ensure they were incorporated in the translated copy. From the homepage to the FAQ answers, we made sure that everything was accessible to any visitor, whether it is in English or Chinese.

The old Keen Health website had the same layout and design for both desktop and mobile, making the mobile version hard to navigate and utilise. This is a common problem old websites face, and can impact not just the user experience but also SEO performance.
We designed a website that is optimised for mobile, so users on-the-go have the same experience. This is also for accessibility reasons, to ensure users with visual disabilities or those using screen readers do not experience an accessibility gap.
